What is an endodontsit

An endodontist is a dental specialist dedicated to diagnosing and treating problems involving the inside of the tooth, including the dental pulp and surrounding root tissues. After completing dental school, an endodontist undergoes an additional two to three years of advanced specialty training focused on root canal therapy, management of dental pain, treatment of cracked teeth, traumatic injuries, and complex or previously treated cases. Using advanced technology such as operating microscopes and 3D imaging, endodontists are experts in saving natural teeth and relieving discomfort with precision and efficiency.

What to Expect During Your Endodontic Consultation

Your first visit to our office is focused on understanding your concerns, diagnosing the problem accurately, and discussing the best treatment options for you.

During your appointment, we will review your medical and dental history and listen carefully to your symptoms. A thorough clinical examination will be performed, which may include specialized testing of the affected tooth. In many cases, digital radiographs or 3D imaging (CBCT) are taken to evaluate the tooth and surrounding structures in detail.
After gathering all necessary information, we will explain our findings clearly and review your treatment options, including whether root canal therapy, retreatment, surgical treatment, or monitoring is recommended. We will answer all of your questions so you feel informed and confident moving forward.
If treatment is needed and time permits, it may be completed on the same day. Our goal is to provide precise, comfortable care focused on relieving pain and preserving your natural tooth.
Please assist us at the time of your first visit by providing the following:

  • A list of medications you are currently taking
  • If you have dental insurance, please bring any forms or insurance cards with you to the appointment.

Please Note: A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 18 years of age at the first visit.
